Madison Young is an award-winning filmmaker, author, curator, and performance artist whose work dismantles boundaries between art, politics, and the body. Young creates and hosts the LGBTQ+ travel docuseries Submission Possible, streaming on Amazon Prime and Revry TV. Their feature film By the Roots, adapted from their memoir Daddy and starring Ally Sheedy and Margaret Cho, hits a theater near you in time for Valentine’s Day. Next up under their banner Empress in Lavender Media: a sci-fi time-travel feature shooting this summer and a very sexy queer thriller loosely based on the myth of Persephone and Hades. Young is a pioneer of the feminist porn movement and Artistic Director of the Alchemy Film Foundation. They just opened a new art space and indie film studio in Berkeley for badass artists, writers, filmmakers, and mischief makers.
